A credit score provides an indication of the creditworthiness of a business. They are taken from external credit bureaus and are not calculated by Funding Circle’s models.
The credit score for limited companies is taken directly from Experian, a credit ratings agency we currently use. You can read more about Experian’s Delphi scores on Experian’s website.
Where available, the credit score for non-limited companies is taken from Creditsafe, another credit ratings agency we use. You can read more about Creditsafe’s definition for credit scores on their website. There is less data publicly available for non-limited companies which means that there may not always be a credit score.
Even if a business has a credit score of 100 (out of 100), this does not guarantee that they will be able to fully repay their loan.
